I also got some amazing gifts such as a wedding box (a bit of a tradition in my family, where you put all your momentoes of your planning and the actual day) and a wedding book, to plan the occasion. Both of these are beautifully embroidered by my grandmother's friend Dorethea, who is 90 years old and still so creative!
As you might have noticed, I've had a couple posts now about my BirchBox subscription and I'm here again to talk about my February BirchBox and what I thought about the products.
So lets get started!
Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush is a gift from the gods. Okay, maybe that was a bit of an overstatement but I was looking for a brush exactly like this so I was pleasantly surprised to see this was going to be in my box! I love the fluffy texture of this brush and the shape is perfect to set my under eye concealer. Also it's super pretty!
LOC One and Done Shadow Stick in Champagne Problems is a beautiful product but I'm a little annoyed that you have to sharpen it rather than twist it to push it up. I know I'm just being fussy but I don't have a sharpener that big so I'd have to buy a whole other piece of kit to use it more than twice. Other than that, the colour is super rich and creamy and its really gorgeous on! It doesn't blend very well but you can use shadow over it to create the effect of it blending.
Now I've dyed my hair back to its original brown colour, I'm am using more heat styling and this little bottle of Parlor by Jeff Chastain Smoothing Blowout Spray has definitely helped with that by keeping my hair protected and smooth. I will say, I wouldn't buy this again and thats only because I was completely taken over by Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle spray that I got in January. It's the best!
I've found recently that I am getting into creams and lotions, especially for my face so I was happy to see the Delarom Creme Acquaconfort nestled in my Feb box. It was a good moisturiser from what I could tell and I did use it every day but I didn't see any results, probably because I wasn't using it for long enough. I am a much bigger fan of my Nip+Fab creams!
I've seen theBalm everywhere but I HATE the packaging so I've never really taken an interest but it was nice to see theBalm Cosmetics Frat Boy Blush/ Shadow so that I could finally see what the hype was about. I still don't get it. Other than being super pigmented, it wasn't anything special so I'm going to continue to not pay attention to theBalm. Sorry not sorry.
The beauty bonus this month was a perfume by Catherine Malandrino (Style de Paris Eau de Parfum). I have my favourite perfumes and I stick to them militently so it's not often that I like a new one but this scent is beautiful! I think probably because it has mandarin in it which is my FAVOURITE fruit. Take a sniff if you get the chance cause it's lovely!
Okay, lovelies, that's it from me today but I'll see you again soon.
